Job description

Researcher in EV charging infrastructure
KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

The electrification of heavy-duty transportation requires next-generation charging infrastructure capable of delivering fast, efficient, and reliable charging while supporting future grid services through vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies and mobile energy storage.

This project focuses on the design, modeling, control, and hardware development of fast charging systems for heavy-duty electric vehicles. The research covers high-power power electronic converters, system-level modeling, control strategies, grid integration, the coordination of mobile energy storage.

This project is funded by Sweden's Innovation Agency, in collaboration with City of Stockholm, Hitachi Energy, Vattenfall, etc.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following topics: power electronics hardware, EV charging converter design, or EV charging management
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with hardware development
  • Strong publication records in top IEEE Transactions
  • Strong self-motivation in research
