Postdoc in Coupled transport-energy modeling with focus on transport systems
Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental and Energy Science, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to cutting‑edge research on coupled transport‑energy modelling and optimisation for electrified transport systems.
Rapid growth of electric vehicles (EVs) creates challenges for transport and energy systems. The project develops a high‑resolution simulation environment that captures interactions among EV users, charging infrastructure, mobility demand, and power‑grid operations. A deep‑learning based framework will enable decentralised, coordinated decisions on EV charging, infrastructure deployment and energy‑system operation, analysing synergistic charging of passenger and heavy‑duty EVs, distributed renewable energy and battery storage to improve system efficiency and resilience.
Temporary full‑time employment for two years with the possibility of a one‑year extension. The position requires physical presence throughout the employment period. A valid residence permit must be presented by the start date.
We welcome applications no later than 8 August 2026.
