Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc in Stockholm is seeking a Software Engineer in the WxMedia & SRE organization to bring real-time media features to life and drive resolution of high-impact media escalations. You will combine SRE practices with modern AI tooling to transform monitoring, diagnosis, and automated remediation for global media services handling billions of minutes.

You will design and build production-grade AI agents, MTTD/MTTR improvements, and scalable media delivery systems while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of related experience, Master’s + 6 or PhD + 3 in CS/Software Engineering
• Strong track record as a Senior/Lead SRE or Software Engineer delivering distributed SaaS or media platforms at scale
• Experience with media streaming and real-time protocols (RTP/RTCP, WebRTC, SIP, SDP, RTSP, HLS/DASH)
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C++, or Java with microservices and automation design
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and Docker in large multi-cluster environments
• Experience in SRE practices: SLI/SLO design, observability platforms, incident management, RCA

Responsibilities

• Lead deep-dive troubleshooting for WxMedia platform issues including packet loss, latency, and signaling failures
• Develop real-time media features ensuring scalability and global routing
• Design high-resilience systems for AI-assisted observability and self-healing infra
• Build AI agents, MCP integrations, and evaluation pipelines for operational support
• Implement ingestion and correlation pipelines for logs, metrics, traces to speed MTTD/MTTR
• Develop proactive anomaly detection and HITL remediation guardrails
• Collaborate with teams to define SLIs/SLOs and post-incident reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering standards across teams
