Job summary
Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking an R&D Engineer to develop advanced control strategies for HVDC systems, including MMC and LCC technologies. You will design and optimize control algorithms, perform small-signal stability analyses, and conduct transient simulations to ensure robust performance.
This role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and contribution to roadmaps. The ideal candidate holds a PhD or MSc in relevant fields, with experience in HVDC/FACTS and strong MATLAB/PSCAD/EMTDC tool
Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Power Systems, Electrical Machines and Drives, or Power Electronics Control.
- Preferred HVDC or FACTS experience.
- Strong knowledge of MMC topologies and HVDC control systems.
- Proven expertise in small-signal stability analysis and transient simulations.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, Modelica, Dymola, RTDS, Python, C/C++.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize control algorithms for MMC- and LCC-based HVDC systems.
- Perform steady-state transient and dynamic stability studies.
- Support technology roadmaps and system-level evaluations.
- Collaborate in an agile team and address evolving customer requirements.
