Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hardware design for gas and steam turbine control systems. You will develop standardized solutions, support modernization projects, and ensure safety and reliability across the fleet.

You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with multiple departments and leveraging COMOS and AutoCAD to deliver robust electrical designs and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within control equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of COMOS or similar electrical database engineering tool and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong cooperation skills and willingness to assist colleagues.
  • Structured and driven in daily work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Swedish is a merit.

  • Lead the hardware design aspects of assigned tasks and R&D projects, focusing on developing standardized solutions for the turbine fleet.

Join us in shaping the future of energy! As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in modernizing our customers’ equipment and reducing their carbon footprint. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining standard solutions for control equipment while assisting with modernization projects for our gas and steam turbine fleet. In this fast-evolving energy landscape, you will tackle challenges such as rapid equipment superseding, the integration of renewable fuels, and driving innovative solutions to enhance fleet efficiency. Collaborating closely with various departments, you will engage in R&D projects, develop new solutions, and support existing products, all while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. With access to a local test room, you can test your designs on current hardware and, in some cases, follow your design until installation on-site. What You Bring
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within control equipment.
  • You possess strong knowledge of Comos or a similar electrical database engineering tool and have experience with AutoCAD.
  • Your strong cooperation skills and willingness to assist colleagues will be key to your success in this role.
  • You are structured and driven in your daily work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • You can express yourself fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish is considered a merit.
About the Team

Our team is composed of eleven dedicated development engineers specializing in the instrumentation and control aspects of gas and steam turbine packages. We focus on creating standardized solutions for modernization and upgrade projects. With expertise in control systems, electrical engineering, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and functional safety, we support ongoing R&D projects and are responsible for sustaining all active products related to package instruments and controls. Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization, ensuring zero or low-emission power generation with all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators under one roof. We provide decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
