Siemens Energy invites applications for an Aerodynamics Engineer in its R&D Compressor group in Finspång. You will design high-performance turbomachinery compressors, run CFD analyses, and help optimize development processes while collaborating with colleagues across Europe, North America, and Asia to accelerate decarbonization and energy transition.

You hold a Master’s or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with strong fluid dynamics, math and programming skills, and an experimental

Join our R&D team as an Aerodynamics Engineer and help shape the future of energy technology by designing highly efficient and reliable turbomachinery components. You will drive innovation in compressor aerodynamics, contributing throughout the entire development process—from initial concept and CFD simulations to validation and long-term product support. How You Will Make An Impact
  • Contribute to the aerodynamic design of high-performance turbomachinery compressors using advanced numerical tools, including both in-house and commercial software.
  • Perform CFD calculations and analyses on compressors and related components, such as intake houses, flow cavities, and bearing houses, utilizing tools like ANSYS CFX, StarCCM+ and TRACE.
  • Implement and develop optimization tools and new methods to enhance R&D efficiency in line with Siemens Energy’s vision.
  • Build a local and global network by collaborating with colleagues across Europe, North America, and Asia, and work closely with teams in Aero mechanics, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Integrity, Test, and Manufacturing.
What You Bring
  • You hold a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  • You have knowledge and interest in fluid dynamics, both theoretical and experimental, mathematics, and programming as well as an experimental background.
  • You are highly motivated, passionate, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset.
  • You thrive in a collaborative team environment and actively contribute to team effectiveness.
  • Experience in turbomachinery and Swedish language skills are a plus; advanced English proficiency is required.

You will join a diverse R&D Compressor group of more than 20 skilled engineers specializing in aeromechanics, aerodynamics, mechanical integrity, structural dynamics, and rotor dynamics. Our team is dedicated to advancing compressor technology in a supportive, collaborative environment. Based in Finspång, we are recognized for our expertise and commitment to continuous development, always challenging ourselves and each other to stay at the forefront of innovation. As part of the Gas Services division, we deliver high-performance, low-emission power generation through advanced gas turbine technology. By driving decarbonization and modernization, we energize society and accelerate the global energy transition.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
