Leap29 is partnering with a market leading technical installation and service provider to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a major data centre project on site in Borlänge, Sweden. You will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery across engineering, construction, commercial, and site teams in a hands-on, site-based environment.

The role requires a proven track record delivering large scale, technically complex projects under high demand standards, with full commitment to safety

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Delivery: Coordinate end to end delivery activities across engineering, construction, commercial, and site operations to ensure high quality execution.
• Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Primary point of contact for managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
• Performance & Progress Monitoring: Monitor project programmes, cost control, quality assurances, and key metrics against milestones.
• Risk & Issue Mitigation: Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and scope changes with corrective actions.
• Safety & Standards Compliance: Drive a zero harm safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Major Project Track Record: Demonstrated experience delivering large scale, technically complex industrial or mission critical builds.

Role Overview:

Leap29 is partnering with a market leading technical installation and service provider to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a major data centre project based on site in Borlänge, Sweden.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary delivery activities across engineering, construction, commercial, and site teams. We are seeking a hands on contractor who thrives in site based environments and has a proven track record delivering large scale, technically complex projects under high demand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Delivery: Coordinate end to end delivery activities across engineering, construction, commercial, and site operations to ensure high quality execution.


• Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


• Performance & Progress Monitoring: Continuously monitor project programme schedules, cost control, quality assurances, and key operational metrics against target milestones.


• Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and scope changes, implementing quick and effective corrective actions.


• Safety & Standards Compliance: Drive a zero harm safety culture on site, ensuring all delivery activities strictly comply with health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and technical standards.


• Major Project Track Record: Demonstrated experience managing large scale, technically complex industrial or mission critical builds.


• Domain Expertise:


• Primary: Experience in Data Centre construction/delivery is highly preferred.


• Secondary: Experience in Pharmaceutical, Battery facilities (e.g., Northvolt), Energy, or Mission Critical environments will also be strongly considered.


• Site Presence: Fully comfortable with a 100% site based assignment and accustomed to the dynamics of working directly on active construction sites.

Logistics & Mobility:

• Commute/Travel: Candidates must live within a reasonable daily travel distance of Borlänge, Sweden, or be prepared to work on a structured rotation/travel pattern (daily commuting from major metropolitan areas outside the immediate region is not realistic).
