Job summary

SiriusPoint in Stockholm is seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee MGA relationships and delegated underwriting programs. You will ensure alignment with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and profitable growth through strong collaboration with underwriting, claims, finance and compliance teams.

You will report to the Head of Program Management and coordinate cross-functional initiatives to optimize program performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications (CPCU, ACII, AINS) are advantageous.
• Typically 3+ years in program management, underwriting, or MGA management.
• Solid understanding of multi-class insurance products and MGAs.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations and best practices for program management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation with MGAs and stakeholders.
• Proven relationship-management and customer-focused mindset.
• Project management skills to plan and monitor program initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with MGAs, acting as primary contact for program matters.
• Manage onboarding for new MGAs.
• Monitor MGA performance against KPIs and obligations, implementing improvements.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting, claims and business development to negotiate contracts.
• Develop and maintain MGA requirements ensuring regulatory adherence.
• Assess and manage risks in MGAs and delegated programs with proper controls.

Join Our Team

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Program Manager to join SiriusPoint, focusing on Managing General Agents (MGAs) and delegated underwriting programs. As the Program Manager for MGAs, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the relationships with our MGAs, ensuring their compliance with underwriting guidelines, and driving profitable growth through effective program management. Your role will involve collaboration with various internal teams, including underwriting, claims, finance and compliance to ensure successful program implementation and ongoing performance. You will report to the Head of Program Management.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with MGAs, acting as the primary point of contact for program-related matters and addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
• Manage the onboarding process for all new MGA’s.
• Monitor the performance of MGAs against defined key performance indicators (KPIs), contractual obligations and identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans as needed.
• Collaborate with legal, underwriting, claims and business development teams in negotiating contracts with MGAs, ensuring clear terms and obligations.
• Develop and maintain requirements for MGAs, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assess and manage risks associated with MGAs and delegated underwriting programs, ensuring proper controls are in place to mitigate potential losses.
• Ensure MGAs comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements. Confirming MGA’s are aligned to our philosophies and values.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for new program development and growth.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing updates on program performance, issues and recommendations.
• Support MGAs on underwriting guidelines, product knowledge, and other relevant topics to enhance their capabilities.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in initiatives to streamline program management and enhance efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

• Be a key point of contact within the Business for Delegated Underwriting related enquiries across all classes.
• Ensure that all MGAs and Delegated Underwriting Programs are approved in line with SiriusPoint’s MGA Playbook and Policies and Procedures.
• Co-ordination of and attendance at Deal and Portfolio Committee meetings, as necessary.
• Assist in the maintenance of the SiriusPoint International and Syndicate audit diary (and subsequent recommendations) in respect of all coverholder business.
• Perform visits and reviews of coverholders / MGAs as part of the audit and regular review process. Visits can be performed by SINT (SiriusPoint International) / SIMA (Sirius International Managing Agency) personnel, or external auditors / experts.

Your Skills And Abilities Should Include

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPCU, ACII AINS) are advantageous.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in program management, underwriting, or managing MGAs within the insurance industry.
• Thorough understanding of multi-class insurance products, underwriting principles, and the role of MGAs in the insurance distribution model.
• Knowledge of relevant insurance regulations and industry best practices for program management and delegated underwriting authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess program performance data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with MGAs, TPA’s and internal stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successful relationship management and customer-centric approach to business partnerships.
• Project management expertise to effectively plan, execute, and monitor program initiatives.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Team player with leadership qualities, capable of motivating and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Swedish and English-speaking regulators, stakeholders, and business partners
