Job description

About Magma Math

Magma is one of the world's fastest-growing and most celebrated EdTech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning - while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.

The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.

But we're not just building better tools. We're tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math

underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math - a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths - we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.

We're already the go-to solution in thousands of schools - and we're just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we're building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.

The Role

The Product & Tech team at Magma is divided into three core experiences: Teacher, Student and District. With a growing user base and plenty of problems to solve, we're hiring a Product Lead of Student Experience to own the student-facing part of our product and take full ownership of the space.

You will define the vision and strategy for the student experience, manage stakeholders across the organization, and align priorities across teams. You are ultimately responsible for making sure every feature we ship moves the needle for learners.

At the same time, you will act as Product Manager for one of the product units - working side-by-side with developers, QA and designers to plan, build and launch features. You will own a domain end-to-end - from figuring out what problem is worth solving, to shipping a solution, to making sure it actually creates value.

Who you are and what you know
  • Have experience structuring complex problems, aligning stakeholders, and turning ambiguous challenges into clear strategies

  • Have experience leading and growing product teams; you know how to build structure and set meaningful KPIs

  • Be hands-on across the full product development cycle: user research, design, implementation, testing. This is not a pure project manager role where you are only coordinating

  • Have strong technical understanding, enough to engage with engineers

  • Be structured and always questioning the status quo - you plan ahead and look for better ways to work

  • Be curious and eager to learn - and a team player who understands others' perspectives

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Student Experience, ensuring we remain leaders in our space

  • Balancing long-term strategic planning with short-term, high-impact delivery

  • Championing customer-centric thinking across the product lifecycle

  • Leading a team of developers, QAs and designers as hands-on PM for one product unit, from discovery to implementation

  • Coordinating efforts across the product, tech, customer success and revenue teams

  • Setting KPIs and long-term goal structures

  • Mentoring and developing team members

Requirements
  • 3-6 years of experience with background as product owner or product designer, or 2-3 years of experience as a consultant with strong interest and experience with tech & product

  • Experience of fast-paced and high-performance environments

  • Experience leading people and teams

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) from top tier university

  • Startup experience - you know what you are getting yourself into!

Nice to have
  • Proven track record in product management, including leadership experience

  • Consulting toolkit

  • Experience in edtech or education

  • Previous roles in software engineering or data science

  • Portfolio of products you've built

What we offer
  • Real ownership - you set the strategy, not just the slide deck

  • Build and ship high touch products with positive impact on millions of users

  • Be part of driving change in an industry and in global education

  • Ambitious colleagues in a fun environment

  • Competitive remuneration & benefit package

  • Annual company trip

  • An opportunity to work on a meaningful mission and have an exceptional impact on education, society and how children learn math across the world

Start: As soon as possible

Location: Stockholm

Our recruitment process (all in office):

  • 1st interview with Hiring Manager and Head of People

  • 2nd interview with Hiring Manager and Magma team member

  • 3rd interview with Founders and Magma team member

Note: We practice a 5-day in office policy, and we look forward to working together closely with you.
Office location: Stora Nygatan 27, 11227 Stockholm, Sweden
