AddSecure, a leading European provider of secure IoT connectivity, is seeking a Product and R&D Director for GroupTalk. You will shape product strategy, lead a mixed team of software, hardware and product professionals across Stockholm and Uppsala, aligning engineering priorities with customer needs and business goals.

You will report to the Chief Product Officer of Smart Alarms and participate in CTO and CPO leadership teams, driving resource planning, development priorities and delivery

Qualifikationen

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience within R&D, engineering or product development.
• Experience in product management, roadmaps, prioritisation and resource planning.
• Solid understanding of software development, agile methodologies and engineering practices.
• Ability to balance customer value, technical complexity and available development capacity.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

GroupTalk is part of AddSecure's Smart Alarms business unit and provides Push-to-Talk communication services over mobile networks, helping organisations stay connected when reliable communication matters most.

About the role

As Product and R&D Director, you will lead the GroupTalk product and R&D team, combining product strategy, engineering leadership and people management.

Your main challenge will be to translate customer needs into clear product priorities, balance new development with maintenance and security requirements, and ensure that available engineering resources are used effectively.

You will lead a team of software, hardware and product professionals based in Uppsala. The role is based across our Stockholm and Uppsala offices, with approximately half of your working time spent at each location. You will report to the Chief Product Officer of Smart Alarms and participate in the CTO and CPO leadership teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead and develop your team, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Drive product strategy and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

About you

We are looking for a technically strong leader with a background in software engineering who has developed towards R&D leadership and product management. You combine technical understanding with business judgement and enjoy creating structure, setting priorities and turning plans into results.

You are a collaborative and pragmatic leader who communicates clearly, makes well-informed decisions and enables your team to succeed.

We believe you bring:

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, software development or a related technical field.

• At least 3 years of leadership experience within R&D, engineering or product development.

• Experience in product management, product roadmaps, requirements prioritisation and resource planning.

• Solid understanding of software development, agile methodologies and engineering practices.

• Ability to balance customer value, technical complexity and available development capacity.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

It would be an advantage if you also have:

• Experience as an R&D Manager, Engineering Manager or similar.

• Knowledge of telecom, IoT, mobile applications or cloud services.

• Experience with hardware and software integration or mission-critical communication solutions.

• Experience working in an international organisation.
