Overview

Principle Engineer for Planning of New Power System Solutions at Huawei Sweden. Responsibilities include shaping the vision for new power system technologies and leading long-term technical development strategies for the product portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze trends in the development of new power systems to shape the vision for relevant technologies, platforms, and industry directions. Establish and guide long-term technical development strategies for the product portfolio.
  • Integrate insights from emerging technologies like BESS, FACTS, and customer pain points to create cutting-edge and market-leading new power system solutions.
  • Perform Joint-Innovation activities with internal and external partners.
  • Execute simulations, power system studies, and support field testing with internal and external stakeholders within joint-Innovation projects.
  • Actively and influentially participate in academic or industrial standardization organizations, holding key technical leadership roles and contributing to industry advancement.
Core Competency Requirements
  • Deep understanding of the evolution of new power system solutions and platform architectures, like BESS, FACTS, HVDC, MVDC, etc. Ability to anticipate customer needs and address challenges across diverse operational scenarios.
  • Mastery of new power systems, photovoltaics, energy storage, or EV charging infrastructure. Proven ability to drive continuous innovation in areas such as grid-forming inverters (GFM), grid simulation, virtual power plants, and advanced energy storage.
  • Industry-wide vision with the capability to identify trends, integrate leading technologies, and apply multi-dimensional thinking to translate innovation into competitive products. Hands-on experience in power system product or platform development, especially in renewable sources integration.
  • Proven track record of implementing key technologies and bringing critical projects to fruition. Ability to identify and solve customer pain points, with experience influencing executive-level technical decisions.
  • Ideally, experience in power systems control for power electronic inverters.
  • Structured way of working, initiative, creativity, teamwork, communication skills, motivation, enthusiasm, and quality orientation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (working language).
