The Opportunity
The company is looking for an Electrical Lead Engineer to join our team at Grids and Power Quality Solutions. GPQSS works with FACTS applications in Västerås, Sweden. FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technology enables power system owners to increase capacity in the existing electric power system while improving electrical stability. As a result, more power reaches the customer with minimal environmental impact and at lower investment costs compared to alternative solutions.

You will be part of a dedicated and skilled team where you, as a Lead Engineer, are accountable for order design and customer documentation for our projects. You will also have opportunities to improve our quality and cost footprint by contributing to the base design platform, our processes, and tools. This is a varied and exciting role where you will work in close collaboration with colleagues, both junior and senior, locally and globally. You will have the opportunity to see and test a major part of the hardware before it is shipped to the customer for installation and commissioning. Developing solutions for our customers worldwide and working on our market‑leading technologies will challenge and enrich your work and your mind.

Responsibilities

• Design control and relay protection systems, electrical plant systems, auxiliary equipment, and integrate third‑party systems.
• Create drawings and product configurations.
• Lead engineer in delivery projects, improvement projects, and tenders, ensuring quality and results.
• Lead and coordinate technical work in projects, constantly improving solutions and developing new ideas.
• Convert technical requirements into a validated design and ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
• Work with our base design solutions and processes.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5years of experience in similar electrical engineering roles.
• Knowledge of Electric CAD system, Zuken E3, Engineering Base, and ETAP (advantage).
• Knowledge of calculation tools and relay configuration.
• Experience with FACTS, substation, or infrastructure projects is a big advantage.
• Proactive, problem‑solving oriented, structured mindset and strong teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English and Swedish is required.
• EU passport is an advantage due to travel requirements.
