Huawei’s Stockholm Digital Power Lab (Stockholm Research Center) is responsible for Digital Power Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning. We are seeking a small and medium power conversion expert with strong knowledge in Power Electronics Technology, simulation and design, and Digital control. This position will lead and execute the technology roadmap development for next generation telecom power, EV charger product architecture and converter structures, including products such as natural cooling and fan cooling telecom power supplies, PV and battery telecom power supply systems, xx kW EV Charger systems, and energy storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with internal customers to identify and define power supply system requirements and establish key technical competences for Huawei’s future products and solutions.
- Support technology roadmap development for next generation telecom power, EV charger product architecture and converter structures across different product forms.
- Lead and execute R&D of novel telecom power and EV charger architecture and converter topologies focusing on Medium and Small Power products (e.g., 3kW, 6kW, 10kW, 25kW, 60kW, etc.).
- Collaborate with external R&D institutes and universities on projects for developing novel technologies for Huawei Digital Power Product Line.
- Lead the design and verification/validation of converter concepts in R&D laboratories.
- Generate novel ideas and protect them with IPR filings.
- Represent Huawei at international conferences/exhibitions to share technical and industrial insights.
- Occasionally travel to Huawei China for internal communications, cooperation and business alignment.
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff members.
Qualifications
- More than 6 years of R&D experience in Power Electronics/Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or similar). Experience in telecom power, EV charger industry or related field is a plus. PhD degree is preferred.
- Deep insights into technology and industrial trends and ability to contribute competitive ideas for top technical performance.
- Highly motivated with interest in innovative solutions and technologies; willingness to lead technical R&D activities.
- Deep knowledge of telecom power, EV charger topologies, modulation and control algorithms, magnetic design and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of basic power electronic converter principles (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC), magnetic component design, power semiconductor devices (GaN, SiC) and converter control.
- High level of self-reliance, autonomy, target-oriented work style with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional-level English; prior international and multicultural work experience is highly preferred.
