Job description

The Platform team creates the foundations that help Netlight’s builders start faster, ship safely, and work with confidence. Its scope spans cloud landing zones, developer environments, CI/CD, observability, service-catalogue capabilities, and AI tooling. We are looking for a Team Lead who can help a senior team turn these components into a reliable, easy-to-use platform.

You will protect the health of today’s services while helping the team invest in what comes next: production-grade cloud environments, clear self-service paths, stronger operational practices, and practical AI-assisted development. You will report to the Head of Tech and work closely with Operations and technical teams across Netlight.

At Netlight, the Team Lead role combines Engineering Manager responsibilities – people, technology, and business impact – with Product Manager responsibilities: problem discovery, stakeholder management, and prioritisation. You set direction, remove blockers, and make trade-offs visible. Goals, budget envelopes, and hiring decisions are shaped with the Head of Tech.

With your help, we want to:
  • Make hard-won operational knowledge shared and documented, so reliability does not depend on one person’s memory.
  • Develop Builder Experience Foundations into production-grade environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Build AI-platform tooling and workflows that help builders adopt AI-assisted development with confidence.
  • Create clear standards, guardrails, and self-service onboarding so teams can build on solid foundations from day one.
Who you are

You can lead through ambiguity, turn competing needs into clear priorities, and create the conditions for engineers to do their best work.

You will thrive in this role if you bring:
  • Strong prioritisation skills and a product mindset. You can balance operational requests, strategic investment, and team capacity.
  • Experience building or running a platform as a product. You understand self-service, golden paths, service catalogues, clear ownership, and useful defaults – not only keeping infrastructure available.
  • A self-directed, improvement-oriented mindset. You spot what can work better and turn that observation into focused action.
  • A track record of advocating clearly for your team with leadership and stakeholders. You can challenge a commitment while keeping the conversation constructive.
  • Strong communication skills. You explain technical trade-offs in business terms and turn business needs into choices engineers can act on.
Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least three years of experience leading software-engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, or a combination of these platforms. You do not need to be hands-on every day, but you should make informed calls and earn credibility with the team.
  • A record of bringing structure to ambiguous, high-pressure situations and turning them into well-run operations.
  • The ability to work from a Netlight office at least three days per week.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Swedish or German skills are a plus.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar developer-infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience working in a Developer Experience or Platform Building group, team, or area.
  • Direct experience with AI coding assistants or custom LLM-based developer tooling.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost governance or FinOps.
What you will do:

You will lead a small, senior platform team responsible for cloud landing zones, AI tooling, and builder-experience components including monitoring, CI/CD, and service catalogue capabilities. The team wants to invest more energy in cloud and builder infrastructure. Your leadership will help it do that while keeping shared services dependable.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Team leadership and development: Set direction, coach, and grow engineers. Build an environment where ideas, risks, and concerns surface early and feedback leads to action.
  • Operational oversight: Maintain a clear view of cloud and builder-experience platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including GitLab and CI/CD. Build documentation and knowledge-sharing practices that make the platform resilient by design.
  • Planning and execution: Shape the cloud-infrastructure and AI-platform roadmap. Balance stability work with the ambition to build strong builder infrastructure and guide the adoption of AI-assisted development tooling where it creates value.
  • Communication and collaboration: Represent the team’s needs and constraints upward. Involve the team before making commitments that affect its scope, capacity, or working conditions.
  • Culture and engagement: Build trust through consistency. Close the loop on feedback, follow through on commitments, and make room for different perspectives.
What we offer:
  • The possibility to be a core part of one of the most successful IT-consultancy companies in the industry - and contribute to the continued growth of our thriving Stockholm office.
  • Professional development and long-term career progression through knowledge sharing, mentorship, feedback, coaching, and external training
  • Modern and centrally located offices in Stockholm or Munich
  • A culture centered around community, collaboration, and continuous learning, complemented by social and competence-building events
  • Everything you need to do your magic (computer, phone, mobile subscription)
  • Mental health & parental support offerings
  • 30 days of paid vacation.
Specific benefit package if positioned in Munich:
  • Wellpass
Specific benefit package if positioned in Stockholm:
