Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for a Doctoral student position focused on perovskite materials for hydrogen production by redox reactions. The role blends experimental and computational work within a pan-European collaboration, with supervision across multiple divisions.

The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research, publish results, and contribute to teaching and advanced coursework at Chalmers.

Qualifications

• MSc degree (240 ECTS) in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, engineering physics, material science, energy engineering or similar.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and coding for material applications is highly meritorious.
• Experience of work in chemistry lab environment or ab-initio/DFT calculations of solid materials is meritorious.

Responsibilities

• Pursue your own research studies and develop scientific concepts.
• Write scientific articles and a licentiate thesis; defend your doctoral thesis within five years.
• Teach in Chalmers' undergraduate programs and perform departmental duties up to 20% of working time.
• Take courses at an advanced level within the Graduate school of Energy, Environment and Systems.
