Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an experienced Medical Advisor to lead the medical and scientific voice for the dermatology portfolio in Sweden. The role is split roughly 50/50 between in-field and office-based work, engaging with experts, academic centers and internal teams to advance medical education and strategy.

You will review materials for scientific accuracy, support clinical trials and drive medical projects while ensuring compliance and high scientific standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic medical or scientific degree; PhD is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in Medical Advisor or a similar role (e.g., MSL, Clinical Research Associate, or Clinical Trial Manager).
• Proven leadership in cross-functional settings and ability to translate medical insights into business strategy.
• Fluency in Swedish and English with strong communication skills and scientific integrity.

Responsibilities

• Be the medical/scientific expert for dermatology portfolio in Sweden and contribute to strategy.
• Establish and maintain relationships with experts and academic centers; present at scientific congresses and advisory groups.
• Deliver scientific education to healthcare professionals and prepare medical information on request.
• Review commercial materials for scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist and oversee clinical trials and drive medical projects (Phase IV, RWE, registries).

As Medical Advisor your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Be the medical/scientific expert in the cross-functionalBrand TeamandIn-Field Teamandprovide medical/scientific input to strategies. This can also includecross-functionalinitiatives.
• Establish andmaintainprofessional relationships with experts and academic centers; attend scientific congresses, arrange advisory groups, discussionforumsand symposia.
• Deliver scientific presentations andfacilitatemedical education to health care professionals.
• Prepare scientific/medical information on request.
• Review of commercial material. Ensure that content is scientifically/medically correct andin accordance withregulatory and internal guidelines.
• Assistin initiating, supervising, andfollowing upclinical trials anddrivingmedical projects.
• Lead evidence generation byidentifyingevidence gaps and initiating,drivingand/or supporting clinical trials and medical projects (internal and external collaborations). e.g., Phase IV, RWE, observational and registry studies

Qualifications

• Relevantacademic medical or scientific degree, research experience (PhD) is notrequiredbut will be considered as an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 + years experience in either a similar position as a Medical Advisor. Alternatively, an experiencedMedical Science Liaison, Clinical Research Associate, or Clinical Trial Managerlooking to take a next step in their career.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional settings, integrating medical insights into business strategy
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex medical/scientific concepts to internal and key external stakeholders in a clear and inspiring way
• Keen interest in developing andmaintainingexpert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
• Experience in a matrix environment.
• Fluency inSwedish.
• Fluency in Englishis required tofacilitatecommunications between the affiliate medical department, Regional and International Medical Affairs and other AbbVie functional staff.
• Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity.
• Demonstrated digital fluency, with the ability to quickly learn, adapt to, andleveragedigital platforms and internal systems to drive results.
• Willingness totravel
