ESS is at an exciting turning point. It is in transition from being a constructionsite,to being an operating facility. To help usrealiseour goal of being the most powerful neutron source in the world, we are now looking for aMechanicalReview Engineer to join ourMechanicalEngineering, Technological Analysis(META)Group, part of the Design & Engineering (D&E) Division.

This positionisresponsibleforreviewing and assuring the quality of mechanical engineering design, machinedesignsandreviewdocumentation across complex technical projects. This includes leading the mechanical engineering contribution to design reviews and ensuring thatdimensioning and tolerances ondrawings,engineeringspecifications,andrequirementseliminateambiguity,meet applicablestandardsandabide bybest practices.

The role involvespredominantlyreviewing2Ddrawings, their dimensioning andtolerancesand 3D CAD models, engineering specifications,requirementsandmanufacturingdesignin accordance withISOstandardization.Assessing designfeasibility,manufacturability,assemblyrealizationand overall qualityare key performance indicators for this position. You willalso be asked tocontribute to the development and applicationof consistentreviewmethodologies anddraft proposals forengineering processes.

Working as part of a centraldesign office and coremechanical engineeringgroup, you will support the design, development, and lifecycle of mechanical components, produce clear engineering review documentation, and collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines. Strongorganisationalskills and the ability to manage priorities independently are essential to delivering high‑quality results on schedule.

This is a full-time/fixed-term position based at the ESS Campus in Lund, Sweden.
