What Would You Do As Our Manager Test Lab

As our Manager Test Lab, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations of ASSA ABLOY's product testing laboratory while leading and developing a team of two direct reports. You will ensure that products meet applicable regulatory, certification, and quality requirements. Acting as the key point of contact for testing, certification and compliance matters, you will support product development projects, coordinate internal and external testing activities, and drive continuous improvement of laboratory processes, methods, and accreditations. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance, and performance management for the laboratory team, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous development.

You will report to the Standard and Compliance Manager.

  • Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Test Lab, including responsibility for two direct reports.
  • Support product development projects with test plans, testing activities, certifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate external testing activities such as fire testing, CE marking, and ITT.
  • Maintain laboratory accreditations, quality systems, testing methods, and required documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvements of laboratory processes, efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
The Skills And Experience You Need
  • Technical education combined with hands‑on experience in product testing, laboratory environments, or verification/validation engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements, including CE marking, and product compliance processes.
  • Experience coordinating testing and certification activities with external laboratories, testing institutes, and certification bodies.
  • Practical experience with calibration, measurement uncertainty, test equipment, and the development or execution of test methods.

To succeed in this role, you are a structured, analytical, and detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a technical environment. You take ownership of your work, are comfortable making decisions independently, and have the initiative to drive activities forward without constant supervision. You have a proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and stakeholders, and lead small teams or cross‑functional activities. As the role involves frequent interaction with product development teams, external testing laboratories, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders, strong communication and relationship‑building skills are essential. Good English and Swedish communication skills, both written and verbal.

You are able to explain complex technical requirements in a clear and practical way, collaborate effectively across functions, and build credibility through your expertise. In addition, you are organized, quality‑focused, and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve laboratory operations, testing methods, and overall efficiency. A natural ability to coordinate people and activities, combined with a solution‑oriented mindset, will be key to success in this role.
