Stegra is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Lead – Caster to join the Mechanical Maintenance team within Steel Operations, leading technical maintenance across the Caster area and driving reliability improvements. You will troubleshoot complex issues and develop strategies for optimal equipment availability.

You’ll work closely with Maintenance, Production, and Automation, leading root-cause analyses and guiding improvements while maintaining a strong safety culture and mentoring teammates in a

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably steel/metallurgy.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, rotating equipment and alignment.
• Experience with maintenance planning and CMMS systems.
• Proactive safety mindset and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical expert in mechanical maintenance across the Caster area.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Lead root-cause analyses of mechanical failures and drive improvements.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, shutdowns and upgrades.
• Lead condition monitoring and identify potential failures before impact on production.
• Ensure CMMS records, equipment history and documentation are up to date.
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues, promoting safe practices.
