Job summary

NKT is seeking a LayTechnicianSupervisor to supervise offshore cable installation and equipment operations aboard vessels, coordinating cable lay activities with onshore teams to support the green transition. You will lead technicians, monitor equipment performance, enforce safety standards, and maintain records while rotating offshore for project requirements.

This role requires a technical diploma, 5–10 years offshore experience, and strong communication with vessel crews and multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or vocational training in Engineering or Marine Technology.
• Experience of 5–10 years offshore in cable laying operations.
• Familiarity with cable handling systems such as carousels and tensioners.
• Knowledge of ROV operations, subsea equipment, and deck operations.
• Experience supervising offshore technicians and coordinating teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lay technicians during cable loading, laying, and burial activities.
• Monitor and control cable lay equipment such as carousels and tensioners.
• Ensure maintenance, inspection, and readiness of equipment.
• Enforce safety procedures and participate in risk assessments.
• Maintain operational records and report progress and incidents.

Coordinatelaytechnicianteams andcableoperations offshore
AsLayTechnicianSupervisor,youareresponsibleformanagingdailyoffshorecableinstallationactivitiesandensuringproper operation andmaintenanceofcablelayanddeckequipment.Youcoordinatetechnicians, monitorequipmentperformance, ensureactivitiesareexecutedinlinewithproceduresand safetystandards. Theroleinvolvescollaborationwithvesselcrew,engineers, andprojectteams tomaintainconsistentandefficientoffshore operations.

Yourresponsibilitywillbe to:

• Superviselaytechniciansduringcableloading,laying, andburialactivities
• Monitor andcontrolcablelayequipmentsuchascarouselsand tensioners

Experiencedoffshore supervisormanagingcableinstallation teams
You are an organized and capable person who coordinates tasks in dynamic offshore environments, youcommunicateclearlywithteammembersandstakeholdersandmaintainfocus onsafetyandoperationalcontinuity.Youtakeinitiativewhenchallengesoccurand supportwell-structuredteamworkduringoffshoreactivities.

Youalsohave:

• Preferably a TechnicaldiplomaorvocationaltraininginEngineeringor MarineTechnology
• 5–10yearsofoffshoreexperienceincablelayingoperations
• Experiencewithcablehandling systemssuchascarouselsand tensioners
• KnowledgeofROV operations,subseaequipment, anddeckoperations
• Experiencesupervisingoffshoretechniciansandcoordinatingteams
