As we experience significant growth, the need for a clear and scalable IT architecture becomes increasingly important.

As IT Enterprise Architect at MilDef, you are responsible for shaping and governing the overall IT architecture in line with business strategy and defense industry requirements. You act as a link between business and IT, ensuring that solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain MilDef’s Enterprise Architecture framework, principles, and target architecture aligned with business strategy and defense industry requirements.
• Drive architectural strategy to ensure security, compliance, resilience, and scalability across the IT landscape, aligning business objectives, digital initiatives, and IT architecture roadmaps.
• Govern architecture decisions across projects, platforms, and integrations, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation.
• Translate regulatory, security, and compliance requirements (e.g. defense, export control, information security) into architectural standards and design patterns.
• Act as architectural advisor to the CIO and IT leadership team on strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and ERP teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions.
• Review and approve solution architectures to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and long-term sustainability.
• Support M&A, system modernization, and ERP/digital platform initiatives from an enterprise architecture perspective.
• Maintain documentation of current-state, target-state, and transition architectures.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, IT Architecture, or similar strategic architecture roles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, including applications, data, infrastructure, and security.
• Experience working in regulated industries, preferably defense, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments.
• Strong ability to balance business needs, security, compliance, cost, and long-term maintainability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of operating at executive level.
• Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and detailed execution.
• Strong integrity and security awareness, with confidence operating in complex, high-stakes environments.
• Collaborative and authoritative without being bureaucratic.
• Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.

It is considered a merit if you have

• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience supporting ERP platforms, system integrations, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Background in information security, risk, or compliance-related architecture.
