As IT Enterprise Architect at MilDef, you are responsible for shaping and governing the overall IT architecture in line with business strategy and defense industry requirements. You act as a link between business and IT, ensuring that solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain MilDef’s Enterprise Architecture framework, principles, and target architecture aligned with business strategy and defense industry requirements.
- Drive architectural strategy to ensure security, compliance, resilience, and scalability across the IT landscape, aligning business objectives, digital initiatives, and IT architecture roadmaps.
- Govern architecture decisions across projects, platforms, and integrations, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation.
- Translate regulatory, security, and compliance requirements (e.g. defense, export control, information security) into architectural standards and design patterns.
- Act as architectural advisor to the CIO and IT leadership team on strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and ERP teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions.
- Review and approve solution architectures to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and long-term sustainability.
- Support M&A, system modernization, and ERP/digital platform initiatives from an enterprise architecture perspective.
- Maintain documentation of current-state, target-state, and transition architectures.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, IT Architecture, or similar strategic architecture roles.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, including applications, data, infrastructure, and security.
- Experience working in regulated industries, preferably defense, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments.
- Strong ability to balance business needs, security, compliance, cost, and long-term maintainability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of operating at executive level.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and detailed execution.
- Strong integrity and security awareness, with confidence operating in complex, high-stakes environments.
- Collaborative and authoritative without being bureaucratic.
- Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
It is considered a merit if you have
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Experience supporting ERP platforms, system integrations, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Background in information security, risk, or compliance-related architecture.
