Permobil in Sundsvall is seeking an Industrial PhD Student in AI to bridge academic research with industrial applications. You will be employed by Permobil and admitted to Mid Sweden University, working with real production and product data to create value and advance AI methods in an industrial setting.

You will pursue doctoral studies while contributing to ongoing projects, collaborating with supervisors, and presenting results at conferences and journals to influence operations and product

Formación

• Basic eligibility for doctoral studies: a degree at advanced level, or completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits at advanced level, or equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad.
• Specific eligibility: at least 90 credits in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or closely related subjects,
• Good command of English, spoken and written. Swedish is an advantage,
• Experience in machine learning, data analysis or industrial applications of AI is an advantage, but not a requirement,
• Comfortable working in an international company and in a cross-functional context.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and carry out doctoral research in applied AI, and complete your doctoral studies and thesis within the project period,
• Define and refine the research questions together with your supervisors as the project evolves,
• Work with real operational and product data from Permobil and turn it into new knowledge,
• Develop, test and evaluate AI methods, and show how they perform in a real industrial setting,
• Take part in doctoral courses and in the research environment at Mid Sweden University,
• Publish and present your results at conferences and in journals, in dialogue with Permobil and in line with the project agreement,
• Share insights and build competence with colleagues in Operations, R&D, Clinical and other functions at the site.
