Job summary

Permobil in Sundsvall invites applications for an Industrial PhD Student position in applied AI. You will work with large operational and product data to create value for operations, products and users, combining academic research with real industrial impact.

You will be employed by Permobil and admitted to Mid Sweden University's doctoral program. The role includes close supervision, international collaboration and the chance to publish in journals and conferences.

Qualifications

• Eligibility: degree at advanced level or 240 credits with at least 60 credits at advanced level.
• At least 90 credits in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or closely related subjects.
• Good command of English, Swedish is an advantage.
• Experience in machine learning, data analysis or industrial AI applications is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in an international company and in a cross-functional context.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out doctoral research in applied AI and complete studies within the project period.
• Define and refine the research questions with supervisors as the project evolves.
• Work with real operational and product data to turn insights into knowledge.
• Develop, test and evaluate AI methods in an industrial setting.
• Take part in doctoral courses and research at Mid Sweden University.
• Publish and present results at conferences and journals in dialogue with Permobil.
