Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking an HVDC System Design Engineer to own electrical design for HVDC converter stations. You will advance high voltage system design, insulation coordination, and harmonic design, supporting project execution across Ludvika or Västerås in Sweden.

You bring a university degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Power Systems or Power Electronics, strong English skills, and experience in MATLAB/Python. PSCAD and Azure DevOps knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with focus on Power Systems or Power Electronics.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and equipment design.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python; PSCAD is advantageous; Azure DevOps helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for HVDC converter stations with focus on high voltage parts.
• Modularize base design, improve base reports and models, and uphold design rules.
• Write technical reports describing complex work clearly and deliver on time.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute to internal transformation projects.
