Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Ludvika, Sweden, is seeking two project engineers for the Harmonic Analysis team within HVDC. You will work on harmonic analysis, power quality, and electrical system studies for HVDC converter stations, collaborating across projects to integrate HVDC stations with grids and offshore wind farms.

We value an engineering mindset and a willingness to learn. Open to entry-level and experienced candidates; fluent English is required, MATLAB/Python experience is beneficial, and PSCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Engineering Physics.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and related equipment.
• Ability to model and analyze electrical circuits in the frequency domain, by hand or using tools.
• Effective communication and technical report writing skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in project teams on the electrical design of HVDC converter stations.
• Perform harmonic studies below 15 kHz and support commissioning measurements.
• Evaluate whether harmonic power quality requirements can be fulfilled.
• Analyze small-signal stability when connecting an HVDC station to a network or wind farm.
• Propose mitigation measures and discuss with customers and suppliers as needed.
• Develop data analysis tools in MATLAB, Python, or Excel to process large data sets.
• Present technical results and participate in discussions on challenges and forward path.
• Write clear technical reports detailing study work and results.
