Bain & Company in Stockholm/Helsinki is seeking a Senior Manager, Local and Nordic HR to lead core HR activities across our Nordic offices. You’ll partner with leadership to develop people strategies, oversee day-to-day HR operations and drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, ensure compliance with local employment laws, and align local practices with Bain’s global standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a talent-related field.
  • 8–10 years of Talent Management experience across HR functions.
  • Experience working in a professional services environment.
  • Trusted advisor to management on HR and employee relations matters.
  • Ability to navigate complex employee relations issues with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into insights and recommended actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English and Swedish.
  • Knowledge of local employment and immigration laws preferred; Finnish language skills are an advantage.

SENIOR MANAGER, LOCAL AND NORDIC HR
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join Bain & Company’s Talent and HR team, supporting our Stockholm and Helsinki offices and working closely with local and Nordic leadership. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent and HR, you’ll collaborate with leaders, managers and HR colleagues locally and globally to deliver our people priorities and provide an exceptional employee experience.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As Senior Manager, Local and Nordic HR, you’ll lead core local and Nordic HR activities across our Stockholm and Helsinki offices, ensuring high-quality service delivery across HR.

You’ll partner with leadership to develop and implement people strategies, oversee day-to-day HR operations and lead key programs that support employee engagement and organizational success. You’ll also serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee relations and other HR matters while helping ensure our practices comply with local employment requirements and align with Bain’s global standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll work closely with the Senior Director, Talent and HR to develop and implement people strategies aligned with our organizational objectives. You’ll track progress against HR plans and key metrics, advise leadership on complex HR and employee relations matters, and proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks.

You’ll oversee core HR programs, including induction, compensation and benefits for functional professionals, employee relations, feedback systems, international transfers, recruitment and exit procedures. You’ll implement global HR programs locally and help design programs that address specific regional needs.

Working with the Senior Director, Talent and HR and the management team, you’ll contribute to performance management, compensation, learning and development, global training and retention initiatives. You’ll continually look for opportunities to improve HR processes as our business needs evolve.

You’ll play a central role in employee relations, addressing issues as they arise and escalating serious matters to senior HR or legal leadership when appropriate. You’ll represent employee concerns, help foster a positive office culture and support investigations into HR-related complaints in collaboration with the Senior Director, Talent and HR.

You’ll also:

  • Ensure HR practices comply with local employment laws and update policies as requirements evolve
  • Manage daily HR operations with a strong focus on responsive, high-quality service
  • Coach and develop HR team members through ongoing feedback and support
  • Develop reporting processes to track key HR metrics and drive accountability
  • Work closely with the support management team on programs and activities for functional professional employees
  • Participate in global HR projects and task forces
  • Help align local HR practices with Bain’s global standards and best practices
ABOUT YOU

You bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree, ideally in a talent-related field
  • 8–10 years of progressive Talent Management experience, with strong knowledge across HR functions
  • Experience working in a professional services environment
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor to management on HR and employee relations matters
  • The ability to navigate complex employee relations issues with sound judgment and discretion
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into insights and recommended actions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated project management capabilities
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
  • Fluency in English and Swedish

Knowledge of local employment and immigration laws is preferred. Finnish language skills are an advantage.

This role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.
