Job summary

Koenigsegg is seeking a Battery Algorithms Software Engineer within the High Voltage and Battery team. You will develop advanced battery algorithms and embedded software for our high-voltage systems, collaborating with cross-functional engineers from concept to vehicle-level validation.

You will model and validate battery behaviour, translate models into production code and optimize for embedded hardware. Expect rigorous testing, diagnostics, and continual improvement across the development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in battery modelling and SoC/SoX (SoX) algorithm development.
• Strong programming skills in C, preferably in embedded or real-time systems.
• Solid understanding of lithium-ion battery behaviour including OCV, internal resistance, temperature, ageing and power capability.
• Ability to analyse large test datasets and translate physical battery behaviour into robust algorithms.
• Experience with software testing, debugging, version control and structured software development practices.
• Systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving and strong communication across disciplines.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modelling and simulation.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop battery models and estimation methods from cell and pack test data.
• Develop and maintain algorithms for SoC, SoH, SoP, energy availability, and battery diagnostics.
• Translate mathematical models and prototype algorithms into production-quality embedded C code.
• Optimize algorithms for execution time, memory usage, numerical stability, and embedded hardware constraints.
• Define software requirements, interfaces, diagnostics, acceptance criteria, and verification methods.
• Develop test plans, set up test environments, and perform software and algorithm testing.
• Analyse estimation errors and unexpected battery behaviour, and implement improvements.
• Support BMS software integration, testing, release and continuous improvement.
• Develop and support OBD diagnostic functionality for battery systems.
