Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Growth Marketing based in Sweden.

The Head of Growth Marketing will lead customer acquisition, retention, and reactivation strategies for a digital storefront offering in-game currencies and digital goods across Africa and the Middle East. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic ownership of paid acquisition budgets with the development of high-impact CRM and lifecycle marketing programs. You will oversee performance across multiple channels, optimise customer acquisition costs and returns, and drive sustainable revenue growth through data-informed decisions. Working closely with Product, Data, creative specialists, and market teams, you will turn commercial priorities into effective campaigns and measurable results. You will also build and develop a high-performing team while establishing a culture of continuous experimentation and creative optimisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded growth leader who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and enjoys balancing strategic direction with hands-on execution.

Accountabilities
  • Own paid user acquisition across Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, and relevant advertising networks, managing budgets and performance against customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), and payback targets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive CRM and lifecycle marketing strategies covering customer segmentation, onboarding, repeat purchases, cross-selling, win-back campaigns, and re-engagement.
  • Manage lifecycle communications across push notifications, email, SMS, and WhatsApp to improve customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Lead app store optimisation initiatives and improve conversion rates from storefront visits to first purchases.
  • Allocate and continuously optimise marketing budgets across channels, markets, and game titles based on unit economics and evolving campaign performance.
  • Collaborate with the Data Team to establish a reliable view of acquisition and lifecycle performance, including attribution, incrementality testing, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Establish a high-tempo experimentation program across advertising channels, target audiences, promotional offers, messaging, and creative formats.
  • Lead and develop paid acquisition and creative specialists, setting clear objectives, creative briefing standards, and structured testing processes.
  • Partner with market and game-title owners, Product, and Data teams to translate commercial objectives into campaigns that can be executed efficiently and measured accurately.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify growth opportunities, and rapidly adjust strategies to maximise profitability and sustainable customer growth.
  • Balance long-term growth planning with hands-on execution, including campaign launches, audience development, creative briefs, and performance analysis.
Requirements
  • At least 6 years of experience in growth marketing or performance marketing within gaming, e-commerce, consumer applications, or a similar digital business.
  • Demonstrated success managing paid user acquisition at scale and building CRM or lifecycle marketing programmes, with measurable results across CAC, ROAS, retention, and reactivation.
  • Ability to translate quarterly growth strategies into practical execution, moving comfortably between high-level planning and hands-on campaign management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using mobile measurement partners (MMPs), such as AppsFlyer or Adjust, alongside analytics and performance reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to design, evaluate and interpret experiments, understand attribution and incrementality, and make decisions based on unit economics.
  • Strong creative judgment and an understanding of performance marketing creative, including the ability to develop briefs and establish effective creative testing processes.
  • A high degree of ownership, commercial awareness and accountability for marketing performance and business outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment and collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • At least 2 years of team management experience is preferred.
  • Experience developing direct-to-consumer strategies for a gaming publisher, particularly in webshop or digital storefront environments, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with African markets, the Middle East, or other emerging markets is considered a plus.
Benefits
  • Company equity, providing an opportunity to share in the value created through your contributions.
  • Remote working arrangement with a remote work allowance of $600 per year to enhance your home-working setup.
  • Equipment provided to support effective and productive work.
  • Learning and development opportunities, including courses, conferences, and professional training.
  • Paid birthday leave to celebrate your special day.
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse, international team in a dynamic, fast-growing digital business.
  • Significant ownership and the opportunity to shape growth strategy, build a team, and drive measurable commercial impact.
