Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a junior project leader / hardware design leader (HWDL) for an automotive client. You will merge technical understanding with cross-functional coordination, supporting the engineering project organization through the product development process.

The role blends junior project management with strong technical focus, acting as a central contact to drive communication and ensure timely information sharing across teams. This is a growth path toward leadership within engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Engineering or equivalent.
• Interest in technology, product development, and powertrain systems.
• Experience from engineering projects, product development, or technical coordination.
• Experience with PDM systems or similar product data management tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hardware development activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support planning and follow-up of build plans, delivery schedules, and verification activities.
• Plan and lead component management meetings and follow-up activities.
• Monitor project status and drive actions to resolve deviations.
• Support project teams with technical coordination and information sharing.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, verification teams, and project managers.
• Contribute to concept discussions and design coordination activities.
• Act as a key contact regarding overall design status and project progress.
