ALTEN is seeking a Senior Application Developer in Control Systems to strengthen our powertrain focused engineering teams in Sweden. You will develop, verify, and optimize control system functions for modern powertrain technologies across the product lifecycle, from concept to field support.

The role combines model‑based software development with hands‑on testing in rigs and vehicles within an agile team, requiring 5+ years in embedded software and a strong background in C and Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience in automotive propulsion domains.
• Strong background in C and Python programming.
• Educational background in electrical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, review, and verify embedded control functions for powertrain and propulsion systems.
• Troubleshooting and performing root‑cause analysis on embedded software issues and recommending improvements.
• Collaborating with calibration engineers, system architects, and hardware teams on system design and engineering tasks.
• Ensuring quality, performance, and readiness before software release.
• Supporting model‑based software engineering and verification methods.
• Conducting functional tests in rigs and vehicles to validate system behavior.
