ABB is seeking an R&D Manager in Malmö to lead three teams, coach talent, and drive next-generation DCS solutions. Based in Malmö, you will oversee personnel, project portfolios, and technology strategy in a global environment emphasizing reliability, safety, and innovation.

You will collaborate across R&D, product development, and business lines, ensuring the team remains aligned with ABB’s roadmap and change initiatives, while promoting growth and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in software development or equivalent.
• Strong leadership experience, ideally as a line manager in a global setting.
• Extensive experience in R&D and product development, in a tech-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills and enjoy coaching and growing teams.
• Innovative, collaborative, and comfortable in a dynamic, global context.
• Experience in industrial automation and functional safety is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Swedish.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop three teams with mixed competencies while driving innovation.
• Support management of technologies, platforms, and intellectual property.
• Oversee personnel—recruitment, work allocation, skills development, and salary setting.
• Plan and maintain a project portfolio for the team.
• Ensure alignment with ABB’s long-term technology roadmap.
