Job summary

emagine is seeking a GCP Data Engineer (Fund and Portfolio Services) to join a client in Banking & Finance. Location: Stockholm—3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Start: 2026-10-26, End: 2027-01-15.

You will work on a next-gen cloud data warehouse in GCP, delivering end-to-end data solutions and leading a cross-functional team. You will mentor developers, conduct code reviews, promote best practices, and influence architecture decisions while collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing data integration, data models, data structures, and scalable data pipelines on GCP.
• Strong knowledge of data onboarding processes and best practices for integrating data from multiple source systems.
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliability of data platforms and pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and dbt for data transformation, modeling, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, with automation and platform reliability.
• Experience working with GitLab and GitHub in Agile environments.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Strong focus on testing and test automation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring and coaching developers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to architecture and design decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

About the assignment:

We are seeking an experienced data engineer consultant to join a strategic initiative focused on developing a next-generation cloud data warehouse platform in GCP that will strengthen and enhance our business capabilities.

You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions, working with requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires close collaboration with both business and technical teams to drive successful outcomes.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical leadership by mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, promoting best practices, and contributing to key architecture and design decisions.

Profile & d Background:
