Job summary

SSC - Swedish Space Corporation is seeking an IRIS² Engineering Manager to guide and manage the engineering delivery for the EU Communication Gateway project. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in multi-disciplinary engineering within complex systems, ensuring technical coherence and compliance as prime contractor.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, technical decision-making, and maintaining an integrated engineering baseline, crucial for project success in the high-stakes environment of space technology and systems.

Qualifications

• Strong systems engineering skills including architecture, requirements, and verification.
• Leadership experience in engineering delivery within complex environments.
• Excellent communication skills to engage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the engineering baseline for the entire project.
• Lead and scale the integrated engineering organization.
• Drive technical decision-making across engineering disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with ECSS and programme standards.
• Integrate subcontractor deliverables with the Subcontractor Manager.

Skills

Leading multi-disciplinary engineering delivery in complex system environments

Integrating multiple engineering domains

Making high-impact technical decisions

Familiarity with ESA, ECSS

Team leadership under demanding timelines

Education

Proven experience in space or defence programmes
