Job summary

Your role

We are looking for an Enterprise Semantic Architect to define and drive how Saab works with business terminology, semantics, ontologies and knowledge graphs across the enterprise.

As Saab continues to strengthen its Information and Data Management capabilities, the ability to create a shared understanding of information across domains, functions and systems becomes increasingly important.

In this role, you will define how semantic capabilities should be applied across the company and help establish the foundations that enable information and data to be understood, shared and reused across organisational and technical boundaries.

As Saab's leading specialist within terminology, semantics and knowledge representation, you will work closely with business representatives, architects, information managers, data professionals and subject matter experts to strengthen interoperability, information quality and reuse across the enterprise.

The role combines strategic development with practical enablement. You will shape Saab's long-term approach to terminology management, semantic modelling, ontologies, taxonomies and knowledge graphs, while supporting the adoption of these capabilities across a decentralised organisation.

Many of Saab's business capabilities depend on information being understood consistently across organisational, functional and technical boundaries. Terminology, semantics and knowledge graphs help create that shared understanding. In this role, you will establish the foundations that strengthen interoperability, improve reuse and support the effective use of information, analytics and AI across Saab.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining Saab's enterprise approach to terminology management, semantics, ontologies and knowledge graphs, including associated principles, standards and governance models.
• Supporting the development of common business vocabularies, semantic models and knowledge structures across Saab.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, architects and platform teams to integrate semantic capabilities into information, data and digital initiatives.
• Driving adoption through coaching, practical guidance and communities of practice.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Your Profile

You are a recognised specialist who combines deep subject matter expertise with the ability to influence and guide a large, decentralised organisation. You are comfortable moving between business and technology perspectives and enjoy turning complex challenges into practical and sustainable solutions.

You build credibility through expertise, collaboration and a pragmatic approach, and you are equally comfortable discussing strategic direction with senior stakeholders as supporting teams in the practical application of standards and methods.

You understand that lasting change comes through adoption rather than authority and have a proven ability to build trust, create alignment and drive change across organisational boundaries. Most importantly, you are passionate about helping Saab create a common understanding of information and enabling the organisation to make better use of its information and data assets.

What You Will Bring

We believe that you bring extensive experience from Information Management, Data Management, Knowledge Management or related disciplines, together with a strong track record of establishing enterprise-wide capabilities in large and complex organisations.

You also have:

• Deep expertise in terminology management, business glossaries, taxonomies, ontologies, semantic modelling and knowledge graphs.
• Experience defining enterprise-wide standards, frameworks and ways of working.
• The ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
• Experience influencing and guiding stakeholders across organisational and functional boundaries.
• An understanding of modern information and data management practices, including Data Mesh principles and cloud-based data environments.

It is considered an advantage if you have experience within one or more of the following areas:

• Enterprise Architecture or Information Architecture.
• Metadata Management and Master or Reference Data Management.
• Data Product Management and Data Mesh operating models.
• Graph technologies and graph databases.
• AI and Generative AI.
• Large multinational and highly federated organizations.
