Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Architect to guide large-scale customers in adopting and optimizing AWS services. You will act as the voice of the customer across compute, storage, and databases, shaping implementation strategies and resolving incidents with senior leadership.

Travel up to 10% as needed. You will collaborate with Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and Sales to deliver value and operational excellence for enterprises of all sizes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience (e.g., software development, systems engineering, IT/DevOps).
• 3+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (design, implementation, or consulting).
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customer.
• Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity.
• Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
• Drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.
• Consult with a range of partners from developers through to C-suite executives.
• Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers.
• With a bias for action, proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
• Provide detailed reviews of service events, monthly & quarterly metrics, detailed pre-launch planning.
