Job summary

SkillHuset Sweden AB seeks an experienced Engineering Manager – Building Services to lead engineering delivery for a major transformation project in Luleå. You will oversee HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and BMS within a large-scale facility.

This role requires 10+ years in the industry, 5+ years in leadership, and Swedish fluency. You will coordinate interfaces, manage schedules and costs, and drive safe, cost-effective engineering solutions while promoting continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industry, 5+ years in leadership.
• Minimum 5 years working in Sweden.
• Experience in steel, pulp & paper, refinery, or similar.
• Deep HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and BMS knowledge.
• Interface management and constructability experience.
• Strong cost control, scheduling and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of Nordic standards.
• Fluent Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Building Services for a major industrial transformation project supporting the transition toward fossil-free steel production in Luleå.

You will lead engineering delivery for critical building services within a large-scale industrial facility, covering HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering activities across large-scale brownfield and greenfield CAPEX projects
• Manage HVAC, heating, ventilation, VVS, water supply, fire protection and BMS integration
• Coordinate technical interfaces and constructability reviews
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with engineering consultants, suppliers, contractors and construction teams
• Drive technical decisions and optimize plant layouts
• Manage engineering schedules, cost forecasts and design-to-cost targets
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation
• Lead engineering teams and promote continuous improvement

Required Experience:

• 10+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sweden
• Strong background in steel, pulp and paper, refinery, oil and gas, or similar industries
• Deep knowledge of HVAC, VVS, potable water, fire protection and BMS integration
• Experience with interface management, constructability and industrial plant design
• Strong engineering cost control, scheduling and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of Nordic engineering conditions and standards
• Fluent Swedish and English

Meritorious:

• PMP, IPMA or equivalent project management certification
• Civil engineering background within heavy industrial projects
• Experience with brownfield upgrades and industrial start-up coordination
• Knowledge of Swedish and European building services standards
• Experience with CAD/BIM, plant layouts and industrial engineering documentation
