• Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing embedded control systems.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, model-based design and embedded software development.
• Experience designing and implementing control strategies in embedded systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink and TargetLink.
• Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken.

The role

We are looking for an Embedded Software Function Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of advanced control functionality for combustion engine applications. In this role, you will design, implement, and verify control strategies for current and future engine concepts, working throughout the complete product development lifecycle from advanced engineering and concept studies to industrialization and maintenance activities.

You will collaborate closely with hardware design, calibration, and optimization teams across a global engineering organization to deliver robust and high-quality embedded software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control strategies for embedded engine control systems.
• Implement control functionality for production ECUs.
• Develop software solutions using Matlab, Simulink, and TargetLink.
• Participate in the complete development lifecycle, including concept development, implementation, verification, industrialization, and maintenance activities.
• Verify and validate control functionality to ensure quality and performance requirements are met.
• Collaborate with hardware, calibration, and optimization engineers across global teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvements of methods, tools, and development practices.
• Support the development of future engine concepts and technologies.
• Master's degree in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience within combustion engine control systems.
• Experience working with engine management, powertrain, or vehicle control applications.
• Experience collaborating with calibration and optimization teams.
• Experience from automotive product development environments.
• Knowledge of model-based development methodologies and embedded software standards.
