Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking a Safety Specialist to serve as the local expert on safety, business continuity and compliance. You will drive key initiatives and collaborate with leaders to foster a proactive safety culture across the organization.

This role reports to the Unit Manager and works with Safety Coordinators and Country Security Managers in Sweden to ensure adherence to standards and regulations, drive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience within EHS, HSE, Safety, Risk Management, Compliance or Business Continuity in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical environment.
• Solid understanding of environmental and occupational health & safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, with a structured and analytical approach.

Responsibilities

• Drive and support business continuity initiatives while ensuring compliance with company standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace and environmental risks, driving continuous improvement and promoting a proactive safety culture across the organization.
• Lead and coordinate trainings, audits, inspections, and risk assessments while providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
• Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and compliance-related concerns, ensuring root causes are identified and effective preventive actions are implemented.
• Collaborate with authorities, local communities, and internal stakeholders to continuously improve environmental and safety performance and address situations that may impact the company's reputation.
