About the Role

We are working with an international technology company looking for an experienced Engineering Director to lead its infrastructure, security and compliance functions.

This is a senior leadership position combining technical strategy, operational responsibility and people management. You will work closely with the CTO and wider engineering leadership to ensure the business has secure, scalable and reliable infrastructure.

The company operates a remote-first model, with engineering teams across Sweden, the US and India.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high-performing infrastructure engineering teams.
• Define and execute the infrastructure and security strategy.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure, security operations and compliance initiatives, including annual audits.
• Drive improvements in infrastructure reliability, scalability and operational performance.
• Establish clear engineering KPIs, processes and technical standards.
• Work closely with product engineering and senior leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.
• Coach and develop engineering managers and teams across multiple locations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, security and compliance.
• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong technical understanding of modern cloud infrastructure and security practices.
• Experience driving technical strategy and operational improvements.
• Previous experience managing remote or internationally distributed teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance technical priorities, security risks and commercial objectives.
