Justera Group is seeking an experienced Design Studio Engineer – Expert to provide end-to-end engineering support through the product design and development lifecycle. This role bridges Product Design and Engineering to translate concepts into technically feasible, high-quality solutions while preserving design intent.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Design Studio Engineering or related fields.
• Experience with design studios, concept development, and engineering integration.
• Strong understanding of product development processes and feasibility.
• Proficiency with CAD, PLM, and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support throughout all phases of the product design process, including Advanced Design and Advanced Engineering.
• Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering teams to ensure project requirements are understood and implemented.
• Maintain technical/ geometrical status for physical models, mock-ups, ergonomic bucks, and design verification assets.
• Ensure design concepts meet engineering feasibility, manufacturability, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Balance technical, functional, and aesthetic requirements in product development.
• Drive technical quality across Product Design deliverables and validation practices.
• Stay current with emerging engineering technologies and tools.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges in design and development.
• Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Support project planning and roadmap development aligned with long-term strategies.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Studio Engineer – Expert to provide end-to-end engineering support throughout the product design and development lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between Product Design and Engineering, ensuring that creative concepts are translated into technically feasible, high-quality solutions while maintaining design intent.

The successful candidate will play a key role in advanced design and engineering activities, supporting physical and digital development, driving technical excellence, and balancing engineering requirements with design objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support throughout all phases of the product design process, including Advanced Design and Advanced Engineering.
• Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering teams to ensure project requirements are clearly understood, communicated, and successfully implemented.
• Support studio activities by maintaining the correct technical and geometrical status for physical models, mock-ups, ergonomic bucks, and design verification assets.
• Ensure design concepts meet engineering feasibility, manufacturability, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Balance technical, functional, and aesthetic requirements while maintaining a holistic product development approach.
• Drive technical quality across Product Design deliverables through robust engineering practices and validation.
• Stay current with emerging engineering technologies, development processes, digital tools, and industry best practices.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges during the design and development process.
• Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of design engineering methodologies.
• Support project planning, technical decision-making, and roadmap development aligned with long-term engineering strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Development, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Design Studio Engineering, Product Development, or Automotive Engineering.
• Extensive experience supporting design studios, concept development, and engineering integration.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering validation, geometric quality, and technical feasibility.
• Experience working with physical prototypes, mock-ups, ergonomic bucks, and digital design verification.
• Proficiency with relevant CAD, PLM, visualization, and engineering development tools.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and production considerations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
