Job summary

Justera Group is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join a product development team focused on the design and development of structural chassis components for a common automotive platform. The role emphasizes CAD design and product development, planning, coordination, and follow-up to ensure maturity and timely delivery.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in design engineering and mechanical product development.
• Experience in the automotive industry and with end-client environments.
• Hands-on CATIA V5 and 2D/3D drawing proficiency.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Familiarity with product development tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural chassis components for automotive applications.
• Create and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings in CATIA V5.
• Develop brackets, frame components, cross members, cast & forged parts.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions.
• Develop and follow test and validation plans; support simulations.
• Investigate field quality and product-related issues; collaborate with teams.
• Plan activities to ensure product maturity and timely deliveries.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join a product development team focused on the design and development of structural chassis components for a common automotive platform.

The role is primarily focused on CAD design and product development, combined with planning, coordination, and follow-up activities to ensure product maturity and timely delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and customers throughout the product development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural chassis components for automotive applications.
• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5.
• Develop components including:
• Brackets
• Frame components
• Cross members
• Cast components
• Forged components
• Other structural mechanical components
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions.
• Develop, establish, and follow up on test and validation plans.
• Support simulation activities when required.
• Investigate and resolve field quality and product-related issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal customers.
• Plan and follow up on activities to ensure product maturity and timely deliveries.
• Independently drive assigned activities from initial design through implementation..

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering and mechanical product development.
• Previous experience within the automotive industry.
• Previous experience working with the end client's organization and development environment.
• Hands-on experience with relevant engineering and product development systems, including:
• OAS
• TestIT
• FRAS
• TTR
• Strong practical experience with CATIA V5.
• Proven experience creating and maintaining 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with GD&T and tolerance chain analysis.
• Experience designing structural mechanical components.
• Experience designing and developing:
• Steel components
• Cast components
• Forged components
• Brackets and other structural components Language Requirements:
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Fluent Swedish, both written and spoken.
