Date Center Technician, Data Center Operations

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key Job Responsibilities
- Build relationships with internal teams and customers while innovating effective solutions to meet issues and problems as they arise
- Conduct site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for onsite installation of AWS equipment
- Install, expand, and provision AWS infrastructure at third‑party premises, data centers, and non‑traditional environments
- Troubleshoot hardware, network installations, and configurations; perform network testing, break/fix, rack installations and/or decommissioning and solve complex problems
- Proactively identify and implement strategies that prevent support issues and further enhance the customer experience
- Process and track purchase orders for data center hardware components
- Monitor spare parts inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders
- Maintain accurate records in internal ordering databases
- Execute asset transfers across global locations
- Track order approvals and provide timely updates to stakeholders
- Identify and report shipment issues, including delays, cancellations, and expedited requests
- Manage shipment label distribution for new equipment and returns
- Coordinate with global teams to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issue
- Conduct day‑to‑day business, internally and with external customers
- Take required travel up to 25% on average to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment
- Possess the physical ability to push and/or pull heavy objects into position (regularly lift up to 18kg and participate in team lifts of 30 kg)
- Lead or participate in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools that improve operational efficiencies
- Lead larger projects that require cross‑functional alignment and support, including large DC installations, global‑reaching business initiatives, and development of mechanisms to support growth and compliance with global group standards
- Work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health & safety guidelines

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Knowledge of fundamentals of hardware, networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows)
- 2+ years of leading large complex programs experience
- Valid (EU) driving license required as Data Centers may not have public transportation available nearby
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or 4+ years of relevant technical position experience
- Experience working in a customer‑facing environment
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
- Knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automation
- Proficiency in network operating systems (Cisco IOS, NX‑OS, Junos)
