Overview
Cryogenic Engineer – drive the next generation of SCALINQ's quantum hardware. You will work with the team to develop the full cryogenic hardware lifecycle—from simulation to experimental testing. Solve complex challenges in low-temperature physics and provide the critical simulation feedback shaping our technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the cryogenic hardware lifecycle from simulation through experimental testing.
- Collaborate with design and test teams to troubleshoot system issues and validate simulation results.
- Use simulation results to guide hardware development and inform the technology roadmap.
- Contribute to experimental verification of models and simulations.
- Communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Fundamental understanding of low-temperature physics and cryogenic systems.
- Good experience with SolidWorks Thermal, COMSOL Multiphysics or a similar thermal simulation software.
- Advanced skills in Python or MATLAB for data handling, analysis, and model automation.
- Ability to participate in experimental testing towards verification of simulation.
- Ability to use simulation results to guide hardware development.
- Ability to troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with design and test teams.
- Team player who initiates a collaborative environment.
- A drive to stay updated on the latest advancements in relevant technologies and computational modeling techniques and applying solutions across fields.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- A M.S. in a relevant field (e.g., Physics, Materials Science, Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience in a technical simulation role.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to design experiments towards verification of simulation results.
- Practical, hands-on experience with cryogenic refrigerators.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Ansys).
- Familiarity with the challenges of integrating RF/microwave components in cryogenic environments.
- A startup mentality: thrives in a fast-paced growing environment, is adaptable to changing priorities, and takes initiative to solve problems.
