Job summary

Scania, part of TRATON Group R&D, seeks a CAE Engineer for cab durability and crash simulation in Södertälje, Sweden. You will contribute to FE strength analyses, complete-vehicle crash simulations, and passive safety validation, shaping TRATON’s future products.

You will work with designers, crash test engineers, and international teams to develop load cases, validate results, and support homologation efforts while continually improving simulation methods and processes.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• At least two years of experience in passive safety, crash simulation, crash testing, or related area.
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics and FE analysis, with ability to translate results into design recommendations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across locations and disciplines.
• Proactive mindset with interest in improving simulation methods, processes, and product performance.

Responsibilities

• Drive crash safety through simulation and FE analysis to evaluate structural performance and guide design.
• Develop load cases and acceptance criteria; coordinate simulation activities across TRATON's global organization.
• Connect virtual simulations with physical testing and ensure alignment with homologation requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, testing, certification teams, and international colleagues to translate insights into design solutions.
