Job summary

TRATON Group R&D in Södertälje, Sweden, seeks a CAE Engineer to drive crash safety through simulation of cab structures and vehicle systems. You will work at the intersection of simulation, testing, design, and certification to influence product development from early decisions to homologation.

You will develop load cases, coordinate activities across departments, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Strong FE skills and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Experience in passive safety, crash simulation, or crash testing is required.
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics and FE analysis with practical design input.

Responsibilities

• Drive crash safety through simulation and FE analysis to improve passive safety.
• Develop load cases and acceptance criteria; coordinate across global teams.
• Bridge virtual simulations with physical testing and homologation activities.
• Collaborate with designers, testing, and certification teams to implement solutions.
