Cambridge City Libraries are seeking a District Library Assistant to support the Cambridge City libraries with operations and staff supervision. You will rotate across branches and assist with events, stock, and customer service in a busy public service environment.

The role requires adaptability, travel across the district, and a willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed. Training and equality/diversity commitments are highlighted in the advert.

Qualifications

• Delivery of good customer service in a library setting.
• Methodical, accurate and consistent administrative work.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patience and listening ability.
• Team player capable of collaborating on projects with colleagues.
• Ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
• Profi ciency in ICT, especially Word and email; web information assessment.

Responsabilités

• Assist and deputise for Area Library Managers in day-to-day operations.
• Staffing the UKVCAS service point and coordinating library events.
• Timetabling staff and displaying new stock; liaising across branches.
• Travel across Cambridge to work at different libraries as needed.
