NKT is seeking a Category Specialist for Construction Procurement to manage sourcing and supplier performance across Europe. You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies and conducting sourcing processes while ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage construction sourcing and supplier performance across Europe

Are you interested in working with construction procurement in a global company contributing to the green transition? As Category Specialist – Construction Procurement, you will manage key construction categories across NKT’s European sites, supporting projects with sourcing, supplier management, and contract processes. Plan and execute procurement strategies for construction projects

In this role, you will manage construction-related categories such as civil works, materials, contractors, and subcontracting. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align procurement strategies with timelines, budgets, and requirements, ensuring quality and supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies for construction spend.
  • Conduct sourcing processes including RFI, RFP, and RFQ.
  • Evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts and commercial terms.
  • Manage supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreements.
  • Support contract administration and mitigate supply chain risks.

You will be part of a procurement team collaborating with multiple project stakeholders across Europe. The position is based in Sweden at one of NKT’s locations in Europe, with some travel required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in procurement and/or category management within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in sourcing processes and contract negotiations.
  • Experience negotiating Swedish standard contracts such as ABT 06, AB 04, and ABK 09.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience working with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or equivalent tools.
