Job summary

Huawei Sweden Gothenburg R&D is seeking a BTS Wireless System Expert to lead research on B5G/6G systems, working with hardware, baseband, standardization, product design and management teams. The role demands a PhD/MSc with 10+ years in wireless, deep antenna/RF/beamforming expertise, and strong Python/Octave (C/C++) skills.

You will analyze requirements, design advanced BTS systems, and review proposals with cross-disciplinary groups.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with 10+ years in wireless research/industry.
• Strong antenna, microwave and RF engineering capabilities.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Broad background in wireless communications, RF and antenna systems, signal processing.
• Knowledge of radio hardware architectures and near-RF components.
• Experience with digital beamforming methods and baseband algorithms.
• Project management experience.
• Good understanding of channel models and wireless propagation.
• Strong Python/Octave skills; C/C++ a plus.
• Proficiency with CST, COMSOL, SPICE for EM simulations.
• Solid knowledge of 3GPP and ETSI BTS standards.
• Willingness to work 100% on-site in Gothenburg; travel between Europe and China.
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description

Huawei Gothenburg Research Center is now looking for a BTS Wireless System Expert in the area of B5G/6G (Beyond 5G and 6G) systems research. As a BTS wireless system expert you are expected to participate and lead BTS wireless systems research aiming at future generations BTS systems. You will be expected to analyze requirements, and to define, analyze and design advanced BTS systems. Furthermore you are expected to discuss and review proposed solutions by cooperating with different multi disciplinary teams including hardware experts, baseband experts, standardization experts, product design and product management.

Qualifications Requirements

• PhD or MSc with a minimum of 10 years industrial experience in wireless domain.
• Strong skills in Antenna, Microwave and RF Engineering.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong background in wireless communications, RF and antenna systems, signal processing.
• Strong background in radio hardware architectures, and antenna near RF systems and components.
• Strong knowledge about digital beamforming methods, including baseband algorithms.
• Experience of project management.
• Good understanding of channel models and wireless propagation.
• Strong skills in scientific programming languages like Python or Octave (or equivalent), is a requirement. Knowledge in C, C++ is also a plus.
• Proficient in some electronic and EM simulation tools, like CST, COMSOL, SPICE.
• Substantial knowledge of 3GPP and ETSI BTS system standards.
• Work 100% in the Gothenburg office. Strong preference of no remote working.
• Should be able to travel frequently between Huawei Sweden R&D office to destinations in Europe and China.
• Should be able to work in a team and possess good interpersonal and communications skills.
