Job summary

Handelsbanken is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer in Stockholm to design, build, and operate robust data pipelines on Azure Databricks, enabling scalable analytics across the bank. You will model data for analytics, implement orchestration with Airflow and Azure Data Factory, and ensure data quality and observability as part of a cross-functional data platform team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines on Azure Databricks.
• Proficiency with SQL, PySpark and Python for data pipelines and transformations.
• Experience with data governance concepts including Unity Catalog.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools for scheduling and data movement.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices for deploying data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformations in Azure Databricks and dbt, contributing to the evolution of our data architecture and engineering practices.
• Model and structure data for analytics, reporting, and downstream applications, delivering well structured data products.
• Orchestrate and schedule data workflows using Databricks, Airflow and Azure Data Factory.
• Ensure data quality, performance, and scalability across the platform, including building data observability capabilities to monitor incoming data.
• Continually optimize and automate routine tasks and procedures, applying CI/CD practices to pipeline deployment.
• Collaborate with software developers, architects, stakeholders, and platform engineers to build a high performing team.
