Luxoft is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Architect to join our automotive engineering team in Sweden. You will work with system engineers, software developers, safety and cybersecurity specialists, and test teams to deliver robust, next-generation vehicle functions.

You will lead system design from concept to software integration and industrialization, driving architecture across multiple disciplines and ensuring compliant, high-quality implementations.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 10+ years in embedded software/system development.
  • At least 5+ years in C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • 5+ years in real-time embedded development.
  • System design and software architecture for AUTOSAR-based systems.
  • Knowledge of UDS and automotive diagnostics protocols.
  • Experience with CAN and Ethernet networks in automotive domains.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety.
  • Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with requirements engineering and traceability tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the systemization and architectural design of embedded software.
  • Drive system, functional, and software architectures for automotive platforms.
  • Translate requirements into detailed system and software specs.
  • Manage requirements with automotive safety and cybersecurity standards.
  • Facilitate early-phase activities: FMEA, HARA, TARA.
  • Collaborate to ensure successful system integration and delivery.
  • Support software development, verification, debugging, and fault tracing.
  • Contribute to roadmaps and product improvement initiatives.
  • Lead technical discussions across engineering disciplines.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Software Architect to join a high-performing engineering team developing advanced automotive electronic systems and software platforms. In this role, you will work closely with system engineers, software developers, safety and cybersecurity specialists, architects, and test engineers to deliver innovative and robust solutions for next-generation vehicle functions.

You will play a key role throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development and system design to software integration and industrialization.

Responsibilities:

Lead the systemization and architectural design of embedded software solutions.

Drive the development of system, functional, and software architectures for automotive platforms.

Translate customer and functional requirements into detailed system and software requirements.

Manage requirements in compliance with automotive safety and cybersecurity standards.

Initiate and facilitate early-phase engineering activities such as:

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)

Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration and delivery.

Support software development, verification, debugging, and fault-tracing activities during product industrialization.

Contribute to technology roadmaps and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Lead technical discussions and coordinate architectural decisions across multiple engineering disciplines.

Mandatory Skills Description:
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in embedded software and system/function development.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in real-time embedded system development.
  • Strong experience in system design and software architecture for AUTOSAR-based systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics protocols such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
  • Experience with automotive communication technologies, including CAN and/or Ethernet.
  • Good understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
  • Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity principles and standards.
  • Experience with requirements engineering and traceability tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical activities and drive complex engineering tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in international and multicultural environments.
  • Hands-on automotive industry experience is highly desirable.
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

Experience within vehicle dynamics, chassis systems, or related automotive domains.

Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

Experience with Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.

Experience with HIL environments and real-time simulation platforms.

Contributions to open-source projects, technical communities, or personal engineering projects.
